iQuestions Faculty, Ron Blue
Question:
Where can I go to find information on choosing a financial advisor?
Answer:
You know, I’ve spent 40 years in the financial services world and the
last 25 years building and developing a financial planning practice that
ended up serving over 5,000 clients in fifteen offices around the
country. The last three years since my retirement, I have spent
teaching, training and interacting with other financial advisers outside
of my own company. What I’ve found in the financial services world is
that there are over a million financial advisors, over ninety
designations and all kinds of trainings. There is a tremendous amount
of confusion and complexity, when it comes to how advisors are
compensated and what really is their area of expertise.
We have a website [www.ronblue.com] that you can go to, to find out
the answer to what type of advisor do you need, their characteristics
and what their designations mean. We have information there that will
help you make that choice, if in fact you need a financial advisor.
